Koan

316L / Piñatex / Sapphire Glass

2019 / Personal project

Living as we do in the digital era, wristwatches have seen their meaning metamorphosed, entering a new domain of valence. Since the appearance of smartphones, wristwaches have transcended its primal feature: telling time. Here's where Koan appears. In a world of rush hours and a permanent ability to read time almost anywhere, Koan is a watch which allows you to stop. You won't care if it's 9:32 or 9:39, because if you do, you'll just check your phone. Reading time is an obvious feature, but in this case, you'll have to invest a couple of minutes to learn how to read it.
